Behind the Wall
I came with my family (which belongs to the South Lebanon Army) from Lebanon to Israel when I was three and a half.
My memories consist of fragments of family documents, photos, and stories.
When I was a teenager, an identity conflict arose within me: Where do I belong more? For the place where I was born, the customs, the language, the Lebanese culture that I still live today here at home? Or the Israeli society where I grew up and is an integral part of my life puzzle?
The project reflects my attempt to resolve the issue of my ambiguous identity.
I used ethnic prints that embody the transition from sharpness to confusion. My designs are made in a way that they seem to be looking for the body's identity.
Materials: wooden frames, print nets, gold trim, wool, and fabrics
