Nizar Qadah

Untitled

The work is based on the theories of many thinkers, including Franz Fanon, Edward Said, and Homi Bhabha, who argue that those subjected to colonial oppression cannot form an authentic identity of their own, nor preserve their identity. Colonialism in the state of Israel has created many hybrids and complex, impossible configurations that have shaped the identity of the Palestinian people, designed it, and influenced it. The images I photographed in the village of Kafr Manda in the north reveal the complexity of Palestinian identity in Israel, as reflected in the architecture and landscape design.
