My art explores human emotions. I mainly work with drawing, painting, and digital art.
Faces have always fascinated me. I started drawing portraits with graphite pencils. After that, my art was more influenced by my personal experiences. As a person with borderline personality disorder, I experience a range of extreme emotional changes rapidly, which made me interested in how these changes look to an outsider.
I used to engage in realistic art, but in the last year, I started to explore the world of surrealism. This style taught me new ways to explore and understand my feelings. When looking for new techniques to help reflect emotions, I found a way to capture my short-term emotions through facial expressions and body language.
As a result, I returned to pencil drawing because I realized it was the best style to reflect emotions through pencil lines and shading techniques. Thus, I began using all this knowledge to create my final degree project. I chose to paint several self-portraits dealing with the subject of reflecting emotions through facial expressions and body language. This project concludes my art journey and all I learned during my studies to develop and turn my interests into art.
