I work with embroidery and photography. In my project I present a body of works that consist of embroidered photographs that are printed on a canvas surface in various dimensions, the works display parts of my body which are partially covered by the weaving.. Painful traumas and memories from the past made me engage in the act of weaving as an escape to an alternative world, where I am stronger. Through artistic action I invented for myself a way of connecting to my inner self, and to a renewed encounter with the same memory, which would become strength and power. I pierce the canvas with the sharp needle and embroider with wool the photographed, realistic body parts, creating a kind of photo-embroidered hybrid. Through the rough needle action, and in an attempt to cover and beautify the holes with the embroidery and felting of the wool, I make them huge and conspicuous to the eye.
