Artists and scientists often share an intuitive interest in order and chaos in nature as the starting point for their journeys of inquiry. Vision and representation are necessarily selective in both art and science. Every painting is an act of analysis and communication for me. This process allows me to look at dynamic organic complexity, where the shaping hand produces varied choreographies using a simple repertoire of primary forms. My project is about archaic bodies that reimagine gender, sexuality, and identity and challenge heteronormativity - through the use of the deformed body as an allegory for gender and sexuality.
