Free Letters
“Free Letters” is an artwork that simulates the reality I live in as a Palestinian Arab Muslim girl, living amid societal and political restrictions.
This work is an attempt to break free from all these restrictions through the use of Arabic letters, my mother tongue, and a symbol of my religious and national identity.
I took the letters out of their frame and scattered them around the room, expressing my anger and rebellion. Neither society nor the political game can restrict free thought or erase identities.
