My project does not tell only my story
My project does not tell only my story,
but echoes every home that once gathered, then forgot how.
It recalls traditions fading, rituals lost,
in a time where rushing silences listening.
What I created seems simple—wood, stone, metal—
yet it holds the unsaid,
a silent attempt to revive a nearly vanished family ritual,
bringing us back to ourselves when the world shakes us.
Inspired by a table mat that protects quietly, unseen,
I crafted six golden copper jewels,
each unique, each for one family member,
guarding the spirit of their stories.
At the center: an oak and marble piece,
with carved voids completed only when gathered,
when jewels align, revealing one whole image—
a silent yet living bond.
This table is not furniture,
but a memory preserving small tales,
a place to forgive what seemed lost,
where listening becomes love,
and sharing resists forgetting.
My project is no passing call,
but a reminder:
Do not abandon your seats,
warmth lives in the simplest moments,
around the table we may find—ourselves.
