Inheritance
Installation, Video, Mixed Media
Have you ever watched someone peel a mandarin? In my childhood, I did, and I documented it in my diary. Today, I understand why...
This exhibition presents a narrative of my role as a witness and participant in family rituals I inherited, by delving into both the emotional and tactile, visible and hidden dimensions. Through a series of works, these inherited practices, with all their weight, transform into elements and materials within a multi-sensory laboratory. Here, personal rituals are invented, and elements are tested beyond their traditional, familiar roles, leading to moments of contradiction or a loss of logic. In doing so, questions are raised about the essence of these rituals and their meaning.
