I am filming from the windows of my room on the sixth floor in the Ras Khamis neighborhood, located on the outskirts of the Shuafat Refugee Camp in Jerusalem. The filming takes place after continuous observation of the scene. I monitor the events and situations outside through the camera's zoom lens, deconstructing the reflected scene from the window and the image that comes from the camera. I repeatedly capture the same scenes as symbols of a multi-layered space where its complexities lie in the unexpected encounters: the neighborhood, the buildings, the events taking place, and neighboring areas like Pisgat Ze'ev and Shuafat. The filming occurs without direct interaction with the scene, presenting a dimension regarding the social and political state of the neighborhood. Video, 11 minutes, 2024 Photography: Rawan Julani
