Rana Eyady
My name is Rana Eyadi. I’m an Arab artist mainly working with sculpture. My work usually discusses life changes and their effect on a person’s life.
My starting point is personal experiences that changed my personality, mentality, and my decision-making.
A recurring motif in my work is the wooden cubes. The cubes represent a childhood memory, when my dad used to give me wooden cubes whenever I was upset to use a means of venting, by writing or drawing on them or screaming in them.
What makes my work special is that it has various meanings and is open to interpretation.
My work process starts with choosing the material: wood with vessels because they represent the changes humans go through.
