I’ll pause for a moment for a selfie, “Click.” I need to retake the picture… Ah, this is great, it’s time to post it on my Instagram. Now, let me check the comments on the photo:
You’re beautiful!
Amazing!
We love you, Perla!
I wish I could be like you…
Huh?! Like me? Do you really see me? Have you seen my tears before I put on makeup? I don’t deserve this success! I’m not good enough. They say the eyes are the mirror of the soul, but I have a cover. I am an image and another image behind your screens. Day by day, I no longer recognize myself.**
I designed a collection of four pieces, where each design combines various techniques that express a personal experience of daily adaptation between the peaks of success in the ideal virtual world and the abyss of anxiety in personal life.
Materials list: Chiffon fabric, illusion fabric, nylon, knitting, canvas, rubber.
Techniques: Knitting, crochet, fabric printing, embroidery, sewing, sublimation, fabric dyeing.
