Sakan is an Arabic word for "housing"; like the word, the Sakan project also addresses the issue of housing for Palestinian refugees who have been evicted from their homes and lands. I employ artistic manipulation to create a commercial real estate company using language, aesthetics, and capitalist terminology. Within the framework of this company, I purchase land, houses, and buildings to re-house displaced Palestinian refugees. The artistic practice I employ follows artistic practices commonly used in the field of contemporary art that confront the viewer with questions about falsehood and truth, disguised political criticism, and the relationship between art, community, and exhibition space
